Cast (voice)             :

v  Dakota Fanning as Coralline Jones (11 years old), she is a dare girl. She loves to get some adventures, and loves to gardening. She explored the little secret door in the behind of the wallpaper in her house, and then she found her other parents, other neighbors in there.

v  Terry Hatcher as The evil witch or Coraline’s other mother. She pretends to be Coraline’s other mother with eyes buttons. At the first time, she is very kind of Caroline. In the end, she wants Coraline as hers.

v  Robert Bailey Jr. as Wyborne “Wybie" Lovat, grandson of the owner of Pink Palace. He is a friend of Coraline. He gave the little Coraline doll to Coraline. he is stalking to Coraline. At the first time, he didn’t believe with Coraline’s story, but his grandma told that it was true story. 

v  Jennifer Saunders as Miss April Spink. She is Coraline’s neighbor. She is ex circus player, and she can predict Coraline in the future.

v  Dawn French as Miss Mirian Forcible. She is also Coraline’s neighbor. She lives with Miss April Spink.  She is ex circus player, and she can predict Coraline in the future.

v  Keith David as the cat. He is a wild cat, but Wybie usually give her food. He often plays with Wybie. He helped Coraline to save her parents from the evil witch. He can talk like people, when he is in the Coraline’s other house.

v  John Hodgman as Charlie Jones (Coraline’s father) and other father. He is busy with his work.

v  Ian McShane as Mr. Sergei Alexander Bobinsky/ other Bobinsky. He is Coraline's neighbor. he has circus jumping mice. he is very kind person.

Synopsis       :

            When Coraline’s family moved to an old house (Pink Palace apartment), she feels bored and neglected by her parents. She finds a hidden door with a bricked up passage. During the night, she crosses the passage and finds a parallel world where everybody has buttons instead of eyes, with caring parents and all her dreams coming true. When the Other Mother invites Coraline to stay in her world forever, the girl refuses and finds that the alternate reality where she is trapped is only a trick to lure her.

PLOT

Introduction      :

                Coralline’s family just moved into new house at the Pink Palace Apartment recently. Coralline has an adventure to explore the forest near into her new house. She needed to find an old well. When she looked for the old well, she met Wybie, the boy who live in her neighbor, and a black wild cat. Wybie told her that nobody lived at Pink Palace Apartment with their little children. When she back to home, she saw her parents were busy with their a gardening catalog project. They didn’t have much time to pay attention with Caroline. Her mother told her that Wybie gave her a doll. The doll was like a little her. Her father asked her to explore their new house, and then she found a little secret door behind the wallpaper. She asked her mother to open it, but when it opened nothing in there. It’s just wall.

Climax                  :

                At the night, she awoken by a mouse. She followed the mouse. She saw that a little secret door opened, and then she entered the door. Surprisingly, she found herself into her house, but it’s different from her real house. She met her other parents in there, yet it’s not her real parents. Their eyes were made from buttons, but they were really different from her real parents. They were very kind to her. Everything that her real parents didn’t want to do, her other parents did. She was very comfortable live with her other parents. Unfortunately, when she woke up in the morning, she found herself into her real house again. She thought that it was a sweet dream. She told her story to her parents, but her parents didn’t believe it anymore. Her parents asked her to visit their neighbor, Mr. Bobinsky – a man who has circus jumping mice-; Miss Spink and Miss Forcible – the women who ex player circus-.

Anticlimax          :

                At the night, she found a mouse again. She followed the mouse, and came back into her other house. She was really happy meet with her other parents who love her so much. She also met her neighbor- Mr.Bobinsky with his jump mice; Miss Spink and Miss Forcible with their circus perform; Wybie; and also the cat- but they weren’t real except the cat. It continued to other nights. One night, her other parents asked her to change her eyes into buttons like they were. She felt afraid, and wanted to back to her real house with her real family. Unfortunately, her other mother wasn’t allow her, and her other mother changed her body into an evil witch. Coralline was penned up by the evil witch into an old room. She found three ghost children in there. They told her that the evil witch did same things to Caroline like them long time ago. Caroline could run away with Wybie’s help. When she was in her real house, she didn’t found her parents in their house. She told Miss Spink and Miss Forcible to help her, and then they gave Caroline a green triangle stone. It can help her to find the lost things. Wybie told her that it because of the doll that he gave into her a few days ago.

 

Resolutions        :

                She went to her other house to save her parents and three ghost children, but she must face to the evil witch. She asked the evil witch to play a game as a trick to save them. She must find three balls in the beautiful things. Fortunately, she success find it, and she asked the evil witch to let free her parents and three ghost children. The evil witch denied with her promise. Fortunately, she can defeat the evil witch, and save her parents and three ghost children. She closed the little secret door, and threw away the key into the old well in the forest. The evil witch tried to get the key from Caroline, but she couldn’t. Finally, she and her parents made a garden party in their back yard, and invite their neighbors to join.

11	Caroline says to her another father : “I love Your Garden”	It means that she was excited by the garden.
12	Coralline says to her another mother : “I want to be with my real Mom and Dad.”	It means that she wants to go.
13	Coralline says to another Wybie : “Come on. She will hurt you again!”	It means that she invited Wybie to go with her.
14	Coraline says to the evil witch : “I want you to let me go!”	It means that she begged to the evil witch to let her free.

Moral Value            :

                There are some moral values that we can get from this movie.

                First, we need to accept conditions of our family, although sometimes it makes us felt alone or felt ignoring by them. Example: at the first time, Coraline felt lonely because she thinks her parents didn’t care with her. She prefer to live with her another parents. Then, she knows that the real family is the best than everyone in the world.

                Second, we must care to our children. Don’t let their felt lonely and try to find other happy things. Example: Coraline’s parents didn’t full pay attention with their daughter. They often make Coraline feel alone. So, Coraline prefer to live with her other parents who love her so much.

                Third, we must be a dare person. We must save our parents; although they didn’t treat we well as well as we wanted; because they remain as our parents forever. Example: Coraline saved her parents from the evil witch. Finally, she knows that her parents will never change with anything.

                                   

My Opinion about This Movie  :

                I recommend all of you to watch this movie. This is for all ages. This is a great cartoon movie. It’s not only a cartoon movie as you usually watch before, but also it has an interesting story and great moral values on it. You will find the meaning of the family and how important them in our life from this movie. So, don’t miss it!
