Cast :
v Alden Enreinch as Ethan Wate. He is a brave guy. He loves Lena Duchannes even
though he knew that she is a caster-
a term for people who have a power-. He tried to help Lena from her
great-great-great grandma’s curse.
v Alice Englert as Lena Duchannes.
She is a caster girl, and she has a power. She loves to collect poems. She will
be claimed to be the light or the dark refers to her nature in her 16 birthday.
She felt afraid whenever her power became stronger day by day. She loves Ethan,
and she didn’t want to hurt Ethan.
v Jeremy Trons as Macon Ravenwood. He is Lena’s uncle. He is dark
caster, but he changed into light caster to save Lena from the dark. He
protected Lena from Sarafine- Lena’s mother-. He is a good man, but sometimes
he lost his temper.
v Viola Davis as Amma. She is Ethan’s Aunt. She kept Ethan since Lila
–Ethan’s mother- passed away. She is a Librarian in the Gatlin Public Library,
and she is also a paranormal.

caster. She wanted Lena to be a dark caster too. She won over Link -Ethan’s
friend- to kill Ethan.

v Emma Thompson as Sarafine/Mrs. Lincoln. Mrs. Lincoln is Link’s mother. She
felt afraid to Ravenwood’s family because she thinks that they are devil
worshipper. In the other hand, Sarafine is Lena’s mother. She is the strongest
dark caster. She wanted Lena to be like her. She possessed Mrs. Lincoln’s body.

- v Kyle Gallner as Larkin Ravenwood. He is Lena’s and Ridley’s cousin. He is the light caster. He tried to save Lena in her claim’s day.
- v Sam Gilroy as Ethan Carter Wate. He is Ethan’s Ancestor. He passed away when he went to the Battle of Honey Hill. However, he could live again when her girlfriend-Genevieve Duchannes- bring him to live. Unfortunately, Genevieve killed him because she has become the dark caster.
Synopsis :
Teenager Ethan Wate is obsessed
with his urge to finish high school and go on to college in order to leave
behind the small town of Gatlin, South Carolina behind, until a mysterious girl
begins to inhabit his dreams. When he meets Lena Duchannes, a newcomer who has
just enrolled in his school, Ethan knows she is the girl in his dreams. Lena is
rejected by the rest of her classmates for being the niece of Macon
Ravenwood, whom the town's superstitious residents consider to be a
devil-worshiper. But Ethan gives her a ride anyway and they fall in love. Lena
reveals to her new boyfriend that she is a witch, and that on her sixteenth
birthday she will be claimed by either the forces of light or of darkness. She
will remain in the light, but only if she does not remain in love with Ethan.
To make matters worse, her evil mother, Sarafine, is casting spells to push
Lena to the dark side. Ethan joins her in a search to find a magic spell to
save their doomed love. Will the lovers succeed?
PLOT
Introduction :
Ethan Wate often got a nightmare about a girl
in the battle of Honey Hill. He didn’t know what the dreams mean. He met Lena
Duchannes –Macon Ravenwood’s niece-. Lena is a caster girl and she has a power.
Everyone thought that she is an evil witch. Lena will turn into 16; she will be
claimed into a dark caster or light caster refers from her nature. Unfortunately,
Lena has been cursing by her great-great-great grandma-Genevieve Duchannes- to
be a greatest dark caster. Lena became Ethan’s girlfriend, yet Macon Ravenwood
disagreed with it. He warned that it dangers for them; on the other hand, Lena
and Ethan have destiny.
Climax :
Ridley Duchannes –Lena’s cousin- and Sarafine
-Lena’s mother- persuaded Lena to stay with them in the dark world. After faced
it long day, Amma –Ethan’s aunt- brought Ethan and Lena into Caster’s Library
to find a way to vanish the curse. Lena found the answer, but she felt sad. If
she wants vanish to the curse, she must kill someone that she loves. She
decided to save Ethan, so she made Ethan forget all about their relationship.
Claim’s day was coming. Macon changed himself into Ethan in the Battle of Honey
Hill to cheat Sarafine and Ridley. Link -Ethan’s friend- took a shoot into
Ethan because he was won over by Ridley. Lena ran to see Ethan (Macon) in
Greenbrier; she was being mad into Link, Ridley, and her mother who already
waiting for her.
Resolution :
Suddenly,
Ethan changed into Macon. He asked Lena to don’t get taken by her mother, and
he said that claim yourself; then he passed away. Her mother still asked her to
stay with her in the dark, but Lena didn’t. She killed her mother. Finally, the real Ethan decided to go to college in New York.
He couldn’t remember Lena. He met Lena in the Public Library, and Lena gave him
a book of Bukowski. When he was on the way to go to New York, he was reading
the book of Bukowski. Suddenly he remembers who Lena is for him. He yelled her
name “LENA….!!!”

Moral Value :
There are some moral values that
we can get from this movie:
First, we must believe and confident to
ourselves. Everyone has good side and worst side in their heart. Only we can
claim ourselves into right or wrong. For
example, Lena Duchannes will be claimed in to dark caster or light caster
in her 16 birthday. She wants to be light caster, but she has been cursing by
her great grandma-Genevieve Duchannes-. Likewise Lena, Macon Ravenwood also
claim himself into light caster although he had claimed into dark caster.
Second, we don’t break over our destiny.
We must accept what will happen with us in the future although it hurts
ourselves. For example, Genevieve
Duchannes broke over the forbidden spell that she used to bring her boyfriend
to live again. Therefore she became the greatest dark caster in that time.
Third, we must believe every problem can
be solved. We just have to work hard, and trust that we can do it. For example, Ethan believes that he and
Lena can solve Lena’s problem together without break their relationship.
My Opinion about This
Movie :
I
recommend all of you to watch this movie. It’s a great movie. The story is very
interesting as movie about vampires, aliens or something like that. It tells
about struggle of vanish to the curse and to save someone that we love. Don’t
forget to read the novel of it; it is very wonderful as the movie. Therefore,
keep watching and enjoy yourself. Thanks J
